- CM Punk has been removed from all upcoming live event listings through SummerSlam. As we’ve been reporting, Punk was burnt out and physically worn down heading into WrestleMania, when he suffered additional injuries to his knees. At this time, the creative team is not even discussing how to bring Punk back, since it’s still several months away. Since his last WWE television appearance, Punk has been spotted at baseball games, a movie premiere (Iron Man 3) and three UFC events.

7 months? I didn't expect it to be so long.

Had just read this. There's a little more on it here:
CM Punk may have taken a backseat to John Cena and The Rock and Triple H and Brock Lesnar and every other big star who came through WWE over the past six months or so, but now its the company and everyone else taking a back seat to whatever it is he wants to do.
And that may last much longer than anyone originally thought.
According to a report from PWInsider.com, Punk has been removed from all event listings through SummerSlam, which is scheduled for Sun., Aug. 18, 2013. That’s nearly four full months away.
It should be noted, of course, that plans can and often do change on a whim and Punk could be brought back next week if WWE feels it necessary. But according to PW Insider, there are currently no plans creatively to do anything of the sort. As of now, no one knows how or when he’ll be coming back.
For his part, Punk has been living it up since taking this much needed time off. He’s hit every Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) show from Las Vegas, Nevada, to San Jose, California, to Newark, New Jersey. He’s also attending baseball games and even hit up the Iron Man 3 premiere.
His knee and elbow injuries are getting plenty of time to heal and hopefully, when he does return, whenever that may be, he’ll be rested and raring to give it his all once again.
The sooner the better.

But yeah, I wasn't expecting him to be out 4 months. I knew he would be out for ER but had thought he'd return after that. Is his injury / recovery that bad, or do they just have nothing for him or giving him more time off because he wanted a break? He certainly deserves it, and I hope he'll have plenty of time to heal and recuperate now, but the thought of him not being on my TV or in any PPVs for that long makes me sad.

Oh, well. Guess it's better for all of us if he takes the post-Wrestlemania suck period off. Remember what he was doing that time last year? Yeah, exactly.

I thought the general consensus was that it would be at least four months or so. He's been a huge focus of the show since July 2011 so he needs to take a long rest and then come back fresh for the summer.

I also wouldn't be in a hurry to get back to rolling around with half naked men when I could just stay at home and roll around with a naked Lita.

That is long but hopefully Bryan gets into the wwe title picture to make up for punks absence but probably wishful thinking on my part.

:damn: That's a long time, over half a year. Oh well, he did earn it, hope he has a nice half year rest.
