On the Undertaker’s wrestling future after surgery: “Regarding the litany of Undertaker questions that we have received both here on our site and via Facebook and Twitter @JRsBBQ, the Deadman apparently had a minor hip procedure completed recently. This procedure will have little to no bearing on Taker performing at WM33 in Orlando next April based on what I know. It also doesn’t mean that Taker will compete on the grand stage in 2017 but at this point I’d be surprised if he didn’t. If the next Wrestlemania is Taker’s last one, then one has to assume that WWE will do nothing but capitalize on this golden opportunity market the career and accomplishments of the Undertaker with an historic weekend. To this entire matter, one can merely say. ‘Stay tuned.’”

I know I have a good chance of being wrong here but because Bray has been using his taunts I think it may end up being Bray vs Undertaker pt 2. I can't think of anyone else off the top of my head that he would feud with. With that being said, who are you speculating it will be?

Where yo' grandma stay.
John Cena is the only viable opponent for Undertaker at this point IMO. Considering the brand split he is undrafted and can appear on any show at any time so who knows. Hell, they might have plans for Braun Strowman to face 'Taker in which...good god.

Yeah, last match for Taker, let it be with Big Match John. They should be able to build a really good feud.

Bray vs Taker was one of my fantasy bookings... till it happened. That match wasn't nearly as good as it could have been (including the feud). It was either a lack of chemistry or just bad booking (or both?)

This is my type of thread right here....

So the obvious choices as stated already are John Cena and Bray Wyatt #2. (Braun Strowman? @Botchie Botcherson I really hope the fuck not that would really suck for his possible last match ever!) So lets think outside the box a little (These are not my choices I'm just naming possible opponents that make some what sense)

So I just went down the entire roster on WWE.com and this is all I got (LBVS!)

1.John Cena-
(I think that's what Vince wants)

2.Bray Wyatt #2-
(I thought that if Taker was beat at WrestleMania it should be by someone that could carry on the mantle of his "DEADMAN PERSONA" Like Bray Wyatt but after losing to Brock Lesnar and beating Bray already would it really help now? Should he have won the 1st time?)

3.Brock Lesnar #2-
(The Rematch to claim victory over The Beast and go out Gloriously!) Brock will still be the beast... he already beat the Streak it won't hurt him to lose especially if its Taker's last match.)

4.The Rock-
(If it's his last match it should be BIG!.... right? What's bigger then a returning Rock just for WrestleMania to face off with The Phenom!)

5.Kane #3-( Would it be fitting for last match to be kayfabe Brother vs Brother)

6.Finn Balor-(
The Demon King vs The Phenom) It depends on if Taker wants to lose or win If he doesn't mind losing to push the younger talent who better then The Demon King Finn Balor also that would put him right back in the title hunt with a big Win over The Undertaker in his possible last match.

No one else on the roster makes since or seems worthy..... So that just leaves retired wrestlers maybe Sting? If he can wrestle but I think that's out the picture.

I would expect Cena...but at the same time. Honestly, I'm not sure if I want another Undertaker match. Let me explain.

Undertaker is 51 years old. He's given his life to the business. But seeing him the last few times in the ring, he just doesn't have it in him. His Wrestlemania XXX encounter, if it wasn't for the streak ending, would have been a "meh" match. His match the next year against Bray was overall better, but that was more because of Bray's style complimenting Undertaker, and the fact Bray, while stiff, is a rather safe worker. Then his Summerslam and Hell in a Cell encounters were brutal but were more or less what he had left. Survivor Series, boring of a match. His match with Shane at Wrestlemania was slow, partially due to Shane not wrestling for 10 years, but Undertaker isn't in good health.

Then when I see a picture of him on crutches...

For me, this is where I draw the line. He is far from the best physical shape and as much as I would love to see his entrance one last time, for me, I am looking more at Mark Callaway the person, not the character, and Mark is not Immortal. For me, I'd rather see him retire before Wrestlemania and be given a grand induction to the WWE Hall of Fame, a place where he deserves to be put to show how much he meant to the WWE. For 25 years, he was in WWE. He never left or considered joining WCW even when WWE/F was in dire times. He played a character who is not just timeless but is one of the greatest of all time. Frankly, Undertaker was one of the people who got me into wrestling and his Hell in a Cell match with Edge(another one of my favs) was one of my favorite matches (I know there are more that are better, but that match for me was influential), topped by his encounter with Shawn Michaels at WM 25 which had me awestruck by the end of it. Not to mention all the moments he had prior in his career. He has done so much for the WWE and for me, I don't want to see another Sting, or another Edge, or Daniel Bryan. I don't want to see him die in that ring or collapse and be reduced to a wheelchair the rest of his life (which chances are, he may be there anyways). This industry has put a lot of strain on him and, I may have been salivating over the thoughts of "one last match" for him, now that I think about it...I don't want anything bad to happen to Mark. One last match would be a major risk for him and I'm not sure if I am willing to see him take that risk.

All valid points, but just pointing out that the crutches are probably due to the minor surgery that apparently has no bearings on his wrestling(mentioned in the OP). I think Mark/Undertaker is a smart wrestler, if he isn't 100% sure I am pretty sure he just won't wrestle, but I do echo the sentiments that I want him retiring healthy. Not just for his sake, it would suck to be the man that injured the Undertaker in his last match. Imagine carrying that around in the industry.

If he isn't having one last match, then I think he should definitely make an appearance at WM and retire there, it may delay his HoF one year but his legacy (the biggest part at least) is Wrestlemania so him signalling his retirement there would be the best way to send him off if he isn't able to do a match.

It obviously has to be John Cena. I mean The Undertaker is a living legend and John Cena is the "Franchise" and it is a good idea business wise because the way you can market it is "The Phenom vs. The Franchise". It is a huge match and it should be Undertaker's last match. Don't get me wrong I do not want the Undertaker to retire at all but if there is no choice then his last match should be against John Cena, no question.

I'd be fine with Taker facing pretty much anyone, except for Wyatt, Kane and Lesnar.

I'm with you.... I think it's John Cena or AJ Styles.

I just think they might free up that WWE Title spot from AJ & the way I see it AJ is almost certain to be in the WWE Title match or against Taker. I do not see Bray Vs Taker again at all.... I just don't see it happening. I can actually see Bray or Randy in the WWE Title match vs Dean Ambrose. People have wanted to see Orton Vs Ambrose and I can see that with Bray in Orton's corner. If anything I can see Randy facing Taker again. Bray using Orton as a human weapon

The only opponents I see for The UnderTaker that Vince is interested in is:

John Cena
AJ Styles
Orton
Goldberg
or The Rock

....and I really don't think it will be one of the last 2. I wish it was Rock, but I don't think so.

AJ or Cena, I'm almost certain.

I never thought about that actually.... Bray using Orton as his weapon since he couldn't get the job done. Hypnotizes Randy with his mind tricks.

Not sure how I missed it

Orton and Wyatt aren't gonna be on the same side heading into Mania. They're not even on the same side now, as Orton's playing Wyatt and will turn on him soon.

Maybe!!

I just think it would be predictable and stupid to have Orton just be playing Bray but hey..... that's what WWE does so you might be right there.

I certainly do not see Orton Vs Taker if Orton isn't a heel with Bray.

Orton IS playing Bray and will definitely turn on him. :fact:
