Jon Olav Einemo, new UFC heavyweight.

The UFC has added Golden Glory BJJ black belt Jon Olav Einemo to their heavyweight roster.

Golden Glory made the announcement in a press release received by ProMMAnow.com on Monday, March 7.

The 35-year-old Einemo holds a 7-1 professional MMA record, with five of his wins coming by way of submission. Einemo’s only defeat was a unanimous decision loss to current Strikeforce heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum at Pride 31 back in 2006.

Following a submission win over England’s James Thompson at 2 Hot 2 Handle in Holland in Nov. 2006, Einemo faced some health issues and did not compete again until June 2010, when he defeated Kresimir Bogdanovic in Bosnia.

Einemo won the Abu Dhabi world championships in 2003, and holds ADCC wins over Anderson Silva, Ronaldo “Jacareâ€￾ Souza and Roger Gracie.

A Youtube video was released in January showing Einemo helping Sergei Kharitonov train for his Strikeforce heavyweight tournament bout against Andrei Arlovski.

And just last week, another video of Einemo was released showing him talking about Kharitonov’s win and the other fights from the Strikeforce Feb. 12 card.
