A new profile has popped up on the UFC's website, and it's a Canadian bantamweight with international experience.
A source close to the fighter today confirmed to MMAJunkie that Nick Denis, also known as "The Ninja of Love," has signed a multi-fight deal with the industry-leading promotion.
It's not yet known when Denis (10-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will make his octagon debut.
The Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native had quite an outing in his most recent fight, which came this past October in regional competition. In the second round of a bout with Nick Mamalis, Denis earned a knockout victory by suplexing the Bellator veteran to the canvas.
It was the first time Denis had fought since a submission loss in March 2010 to Yuji Hoshino in the now-dormant World Victory Road/Sengoku promotion. The setback was one of only two in his professional career, the other one coming against former Sengoku champion and Bellator veteran Marlon Sandro.
Other than that, Denis has been explosive inside the ring or cage with nine victories by way of TKO or KO. He currently trains with Ronin MMA in his Ottawa hometown.
