The UFC has released seven fighters, all whom appeared on April's UFC on FUEL TV or The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale, reports MMA Opinion.

Phil De Fries topped the list with a 19 second loss to go 2-3. Strikeforce's Chris Spang took a decision defeat on the same card and was let go in his UFC debut.

From TUF season 17, Jimmy Quinlan, Collin Hart, Kevin Casey, Gilbert Smith and Adam Cella were axed. Each was given one promised professional fight under the UFC banner.

The UFC hasn't released any names in bulk since March, when four fighters were let go. It should be noted that these cuts came before UFC 159.

I gotta say that it seems like the UFC is cutting the fat more and more Pay Per View event they have. I have to admit, it sucks to see Kevin Casey go 'cause I believe he had a lot of potential but Adam Cella should have went bye bye a long time ago. Especially after being brutally KO'd by Uriah Hall.
