With his 14th-straight victory in the featherweight division, UFC champ Jose Aldo (21-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) is beginning to run out of possible opponents at 145 pounds.

Sure, there's a few names making their way up the ranks right now, but is it time for Aldo to make the move up to lightweight in search of greater challenges?

UFC president Dana White said he's just fine with Aldo staying put at featherweight, but he certainly won't stand in the way if the champ decides to move up in weight.

"People have been asking me about Jose Aldo moving up to 155 pounds to take on Frankie Edgar or some of the top guys there," White said at Saturday night's post-UFC 142 press conference at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. "That's up to him. He's going to have to make that decision whether he wants to make that move or not.

"I would have no problem with him staying at his weight now and defending his title there or moving to 155 pounds – whatever he feels like he wants to do."

Aldo/Edgar would be one hell of a fight, would really like to see Aldo make the move honestly. i mean the featherweight division in the UFC doesn't have a ton of depth right now, and he's basically proven to be the best 145-pounder in the UFC. So i say move him up to 155 and see what he can do against the light weights.

Aldo moving up would be completely awesome. I mean who else is there for Aldo to fight? He's pretty much cleaned out the division much like Anderson cleaned out middleweight. All we have left pretty much are rematches and that's what we'll get with Aldo unless he moves up.

He said he would only move to lightweight if he got a title shot, so we'll see. Maybe after Frankie Edgar-Ben Henderson at UFC 144 we'll here more about him making the move.

Don't want him to move up, its a young division and the main guy moving up makes it extremely weak and pointless.

Its in its early stages and will grow in time, Aldo would be another face in the crowd at lightweight, as opposed to THE guy at 145.

The only way he'd move up to lightweight is with a title match. He moves up and wins... he would be THE FACE of both the 145 and 155. What more would he need?

If you have noone to face in your division it's only logical to move up in weight. Who else does Aldo have to face at 145? UFC shouldn't have brought up these tiny weight classes, the pool was too shallow.

It's exactly the same as Anderson Silva's situation a few years ago.

Give it time, lightweights will move down and they will sign more natural featherweights to fill it out.

What's he proved anyway? Yeah, he KO'd Mendes who was legit, but hes hardly been dominant or convincing in his UFC fights.
