Gray Maynard and Clay Guida were recently announced as the main event for UFC on FX 4, with Atlantic City being targeted as the site. Now, it appears that is just about official, as the Press of Atlantic City reported the card will be held inside the soon-to-open Revel Hotel and Casino.
The card will take place on June 22, with the 5,500-seat entertainment arena playing host to the stage. The $2.4 billion casino resort is scheduled to open on April 2.
The UFC will be ending a seven-year hiatus from Atlantic City, as they have not hosted a card there since UFC 53 back in 2005. All total, six UFC shows have been held in Atlantic City.
"I've never been to Atlantic City," Maynard said. "I'm looking forward to it."
Both Maynard and Guida are coming off losses, as "The Bully" was stopped by Frankie Edgar in a bout for the UFC lightweight championship. Guida, meanwhile, was defeated by current-UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson in his last fight.
"Seeing (Henderson beat Edgar) just motivated me even more," Guida said. "I saw my brother (Jason) fight in Atlantic City back in 2005 and now I've got the chance to fight there. Hopefully, a win will get me a title shot."
