UFC on FUEL TV 3 gets sixth televised fight with Pokrajac-Maldonado co-headliner
A recently booked light-heavyweight fight between Igor Pokrajac (24-8 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Fabio Maldonado (18-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC), who's a replacement for Thiago Silva (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC), is the sixth addition to UFC on FUEL TV 3's main card.
In fact, it's now slated as the night's co-headliner.
UFC on FUEL TV 3, which is dubbed "Korean Zombie vs. Poirier," takes play May 15 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va.
The main card, including a No. 1 contender's bout between featherweights Dustin Poirier and Chan Sung Jung, airs on FUEL TV. Prelims are expected to stream on Facebook.
Pokrajac, a well-rounded Croatian fighter, most recently fought at UFC 140, where he knocked out Krzysztof Soszynski in 35 seconds. It was his second consecutive win, which included a TKO victory over Todd Brown at UFC on Versus 3. He's now won three of his past four fights with the lone loss coming via decision to Stephan Bonnar in late 2010.
Maldonado recently saw an 11-fight win streak come to an end with a unanimous-decision loss to Kyle Kingsbury in June. The Brazilian fighter, who also owns a 22-0 pro-boxing record, had two recent bookings (against Aaron Rosa at UFC on Versus 6 and Caio Magalhaes at UFC 142) scrapped due to injuries. UFC on FUEL TV 3 will be his first fight in nearly a year.
