Very good test for Gustafsson against a top fighter, hopefully he can come out of it with the win. Ryan Couture make's his UFC debut and I believe that Dana has banned Randy from cornering his fights. Given a good middle of the road fighter first up so it isn't the hardest debut against Pearson. Could be a hat trick of loses for Mittrione here and I can see De Fries beating him.

Gustafsson has reportedly suffered a cut to the face, and is out of the fight with Mousasi. The UFC hasn't said anything yet though, it will be interesting to see who they have to come in on a weeks notice to take this fight if this is true.

They haven't announced it or anything officialy, Dana might just be hoping he can make it...or its an April Fools gag.

Well it was confirmed tonight Gustafson is out of this fight and is being replaced by his team mate Ilir Latifi.

Never heard of him...so I'll guess easy win for the criminally underrated Mousasi who was somehow the underdog against a guy who's only ever beat Thiago and 'needs to retire' Shogun.

I'm kind of interested in Pearson-Couture & Picket-Easton, but the card is really suffering with out Gus on it.

And what Gus looked like the day the fight was cancelled...

Can't imagine what Dana's reaction was when the Athletic Commission's said Gus couldn't fight.

Yeah, but this is obviously after it's been treated and sealed up. If he got hit in the eye during the fight it's guaranteed that thing pops back open immediately.

I think that he should be able to decide if he wants to fight with a cut or not, but it is smarter not to. That's the kind of thing where if it doesn't heal properly it will get opened up really easily in the future and since it is right above his eye it's the kind of thing an opponent could exploit to blind him.

I know on twitter that Dana is already blowing this up but he's being silly. That said though, Dana's gonna Dana.

Yeah I'm just not all that interested in this card. Hopefully the fights are good but I'ma be missing it all anyways since I'll be at work.

Yeah Dana flipped out over it, going off at SMMA but the alternative is round 1 starts, Gegard throws one jab to the cut, it bursts open, Alex starts bleeding like crazy and we get a doctors stoppage at the end of round 1 and Dana bitches at the SMMMA for letting Alex compete in that condition.

I like that it is left in the doctors hands and not up to the fighter or UFC. Would rather them be safe with an injury like that and I agree that if it had opened up early in the fight and caused a doctors stopage Dana would have been up in arms about that.
