December's UFC on FOX 5 event already has a star-studded lineup, and now it has a location.
UFC officials announced on Tuesday's new edition of "UFC Tonight" that the Dec. 8 event, which features a lightweight title fight between current champion Benson Henderson (17-2 MMA, 5-0 UFC) and top contender Nate Diaz (16-7 MMA, 11-5 UFC), will take place at Seattle's KeyArena.
Ticketing information for the card is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
In addition to the headliner, UFC officials have already confirmed that Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (21-6, 5-4) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (14-1, 6-1) serves as the night's co-feature, and a B.J. Penn (16-8-2, 12-7-2) vs. Rory MacDonald (13-1, 4-1) fight also takes place on the FOX-broadcast main card.
A fourth main-card fight is expected to be added to the FOX broadcast in the coming weeks.
The UFC has visited Seattle just once before. That event, March 2011's UFC Fight Night 24, drew an official attendance of 13,741 fans for a $1.2 million live gate.
Was hoping this would be closer to Connecticut so I'd be able to go, Oh well.
