With the headliner set as Brian Stann vs. Hector Lombard at UFC on Fox 4 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles, the rest of the fight card is starting to come together.

UFC officials on Wednesday informed MMAWeekly.com that verbal agreements are in place for two heavyweight bouts for promotion’s next effort on “Big Fox.â€￾

Oli Thompson will square off with Phil De Fries, while Matt Mitrione takes on Rob Broughton.

Thompson (9-3) is still searching for his first win in the Octagon. He debuted at UFC on FX 2 in March, but was on the wrong end of a TKO stoppage when he faced Shawn Jordan.

At 8-1, De Fries only has one loss, but unfortunately for him, it was in his last bout. He lost to Stipe Miocic first UFC on Fuel event, so De Fries will be trying to get back on track at UFC on Fox 4.

Mitrione (5-1) made his way into the Octagon via The Ultimate Fighter, and the Octagon is the only place he’s ever fought. After reeling off five consecutive victories to kick off his career, Mitrione hit his first bump in the road in the form of Cheick Kongo at UFC 137.

He’ll be facing Broughton (15-7), who started off his UFC career with a win at UFC 120 on his home turf, but has stumbl

Nice to see Mitrione back in action, think he should have a good shot taking the W here.

How in the world did De Vires get a spot on Fox? Miocic made him look like a child when they fought. I don't agree with it at all.

Both of these fights are likely to be thrown on the Prelims so the fights will end up being on Fuel TV, but i agree regardless.

Big fan of Mitrione.

Losing to a gatekeeper like Kongo doesn't exactly fill me with confidence about his prospects though.

Yeah but his fight with Kongo it was like he didn't know what he was doing so hopefully the loss got him back on track.

Big fan of Matt as well, think he's got a lot of upside on him. Think he should be okay in this fight, sort of wish he was included on the all heavyweight UFC 146 card.
