The Ultimate Fighting Championship's spring schedule is undergoing a massive makeover, and a planned March 24 trip to Montreal has been wiped from the calendar.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) today confirmed the change of plans with UFC president Dana White.

"We're still doing Montreal," White said. "We're just not going to do it when we were originally planning to."

The Canadian Press' Neil Davidson first reported the move via Twitter.

The proposed March 24 event, which was expected to be dubbed UFC 145 and take place at city's Bell Centre, was first announced by the promotion in December, when White announced on UFC.com that Canadian Rory MacDonald would meet Che Mills on the card. Seven more bouts were added to the card in subsequent weeks, but a main event had not yet been determined.

White said the promotion is still committed to visiting Montreal, but he wasn't certain when that could take place.

"We tried to get an April date in Montreal, and we can't get it," White said. "We're working on it."

White said the company is currently shuffling its entire spring lineup, though he declined to give a specific reason for the March 24 delay. Davidson's initial report cited "scheduling complications and desire to deliver 'championship card.'"

As for the matchups already announced for the event, including Mills vs. MacDonald, Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub, Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman, Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin, Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs, Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero and Chris Clements vs. Keith Wisniewski, White said further details will emerge in the very near future.

"We're still working on it," White said. "We're still trying to bounce around and figure out what fights are going where and what we want to do. It's still a work in progress."

It was probably for the best, i mean they wanted a title match at UFC 145 and it wasn't looking like it was going to happen. Some of the fights that were originally supposed to be on UFC 145 are going to be put on the UFC on Fox 2 card which is at the beginning of March and the UFC 146 show on April 21st.
