Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is patting itself on the back for doing such a great job of matchmaking to kick of its 2012 fight campaign, listing the 12 hottest upcoming fights on its official website.

Oddly enough, Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey, scheduled for the Showtime network on March 3 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, is not on this list, despite its level of hotness. Maybe because it falls under the Strikeforce banner?

So, with those two lovely ladies eliminated, who makes the grade?

1. 155 lbs.: Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson at UFC 144
2. 155 lbs.: Anthony Pettis vs. Joe Lauzon at UFC 144
3. 205 lbs.: Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans at UFC 145.
4. 155 lbs.: Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz at UFC on Fox 3.
5. 145 lbs.: Dustin Poirier vs. Chan Sung Jung at UFC on Fuel TV 3.
6. 185 lbs.: Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen II in June.
7. 185 lbs.: Vitor Belfort vs. Wanderlei Silva II at TBA.
8. 135 lbs.: Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber III at UFC 148.
9. 125 lbs.: Flyweight Final at TBA.
10. 265 lbs.: Cain Velasquez vs. Frank Mir at TBA.
11. 265 lbs.: Junior dos Santos vs. Alistair Overeem at UFC 146.
12. 170 lbs.: Georges St. Pierre vs. Carlos Condit at TBA

I'm thinking the biggest fight listed here is going to be Chael and Silva, only because Silva Possibly losing the title in Brazil would be absolutely insane, second biggest fight I'm most looking forward to is Jones and Evans only because with a win against Evan's, Jone's will have pretty much cleared out that entire division. Don't really care about the Flyweight finals, and the winner of Pettis/Lauzon could end up being number two contender to whomever wins the war between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller so that'll be good to see, Also this year marks the beginning of the Bendo Era :D

If Pettis/Lauzon is one of the best fights they are going to do then its gonna be a terrible year, because thats a shit fight.

Lauzon taps him within a minute.

Sonnen/Silva, Edgar/Bendo and Diaz/Miller are fantastic fights though.

The Pettis fight is more about show hoping that he can pull off something nice in the fight.

The other fights I'm excited for on there... well except the flyweight finals... its like eh. But the other fights is definitely going to be awesome.
