UFC Hall-of-Famer Matt Hughes (45-8) wants to go out on a win before he retires. The legendary welterweight was on a three fight win streak until he met up with B.J. Penn in Nov. 2010.In this interview with Inside MMA’s Ron Kruck, Hughes talks about where he is in his career:
“I’ll be real honest. I’m 37-years-old. My competitors are around 28-years-old. It’s about time for Matt Hughes to find something else to do. these young guys are just that, they’re young, they’re hungry. I dont have a whole lot of fights left in me. I don’t want to be that guy that goes out there an is not competing with his opponent.â€
Hughes has not fought yet in 2011 and says he would like to fight at least once or twice and will probably return in late summer or early fall.
