UFC Fight Night 35 adds Yoel Romero vs. Derek Brunson, Vinc Pichel vs. Garett Whiteley

January’s quickly filling UFC Fight Night 35 lineup has two new additions.

They include middleweights Yoel Romero (6-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) vs. Derek Brunson (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) and lightweights Vinc Pichel (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) vs. Garett Whiteley (7-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC).

UFC officials today announced the bouts.

UFC Fight Night 35 takes place Jan. 15 at Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Ga. The night’s main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on MMAjunkie.

It’s not clear where the new bouts will be placed on the lineup.

Romero, who joined the UFC after a loss to Rafael Cavalcante in Strikeforce, looks for his third straight win in the promotion. The Olympic wrestler and American Top Team fighter’s past two victories have come via knockout over Clifford Starks and Ronny Markes. He looks for his seventh knockout in seven career wins when he meets Brunson, a fellow Strikeforce vet who’s also in search of his third straight UFC victory. After a four-fight stint in Strikeforce, he’s picked up UFC wins over Chris Leben and Brian Houston.

Pichel, meanwhile, is a semifinalist from “The Ultimate Fighter 15″ who recently made his UFC debut with a violent knockout loss to Rustam Khabilov in December 2012. The Californian had posted seven knockouts in seven career wins before the loss. He now meets Whiteley, whose undefeated record also came to an end with a UFC-debut loss to Alan Patrick in October. Prior to the setback, he posted seven stoppages (four knockouts) in seven career wins.

The latest UFC Fight Night 35 card includes:

Constantinos Philippou vs. Luke Rockhold
Cole Miller vs. Sam Sicilia
T.J. Dillashaw vs. Mike Easton
Ovince St. Preux vs. opponent TBA
Lorenz Larkin vs. Brad Tavares
Adlan Amagov vs. Jason High
Brian Houston vs. Trevor Smith
Justin Edwards vs. Ramsey Nijem
Yoel Romero vs. Derek Brunson
Vinc Pichel vs. Garett Whiteley
