UFC Cuts Danny Downes

[No More Sorrow]

Following back-to-back losses to Jeremy Stephens and Ramsey Nijem, Danny Downes (8-3) revealed on his Twitter that he was cut by the UFC. "Zuffa has 'exercised its right in to accelerate the term of its promotional and other obligations,'" he wrote. "In other words I'm cut." The lightweight fighter was 8-1 before going 0-2 in the world's premiere mixed-martial arts organization.

Heard that they cut a bunch of other guys as well.

EDIT: Here's the list of other guys, they haven't been officially confirmed but their profiles have been removed from UFC.com's roster pages.

No real surprises here. UFC will slimming down the roster after they took in all those fighters from WEC and now from Strikeforce. The good thing for UFC is if they ever need more fighters basically any fighter would jump at the chance to work for them and would sign with them again.
