UFC boss Dana White weighs in on Justin Bieber's arrest

CHICAGO – UFC President Dana White might not be a “Belieber,†but he is sympathetic to the embattled singer.

While not condoning Bieber’s recent arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence, White said the 19-year-old’s string of bad behavior doesn’t exactly come as a surprise.

“Imagine if you had a zillion dollars when you were 19,†he told a small group of reporters ahead of Saturday’s UFC on FOX 10, which takes place at Chicago’s United Center. “I’d be dead already.â€

White, 44, isn’t shy about his raucous past as a young man growing up in Boston. But as he pointed out, he didn’t have access to Bieber’s fortune, nor his fame.

“It’s got to be hard to keep it together, especially if you don’t have the right people around you,†White said.

Bieber was arrested early Thursday morning by Miami police after they caught him drag racing in his yellow Lamborghini against another sports car. He appeared intoxicated and admitted to using alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs. He posted a $2,500 bond later the same day and was released from jail.

Although the UFC executive once scolded Bieber for tweeting his fans to send an illegal link to this past July’s UFC 162 pay-per-view event, White has said he is friends with the pop star.

Right now, it looks like Bieber could use a few of those.
