UFC 173 weigh-in results: Barao, Dillashaw official for title fight

LAS VEGAS – The UFC 173 fighter weigh-ins are in the books, and all 26 fighters on the card hit their marks for Saturday’s event.

In the main event, bantamweight champion Renan Barao (32-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) defends his title against T.J. Dillashaw (9-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC). Dillashaw is the latest Team Alpha Male fighter to fight Barao after teammate Urijah Faber failed twice.

Dillashaw weighed in first and hit 135 pounds on the button. Barao was next to the scale, and he, too, was 135. The fighters then had a tense face-off in front of UFC President Dana White.

“I’m hungry, I’ve got what it takes, I believe in myself, and I ain’t scared,†Dillashaw said.

The co-main event sees Daniel Cormier (14-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) fighting at light heavyweight for just the second time. He meets former PRIDE and Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson (30-11 MMA, 7-5 UFC). Henderson came in well under the mark at 199 pounds. Cormier was 205 on the nose.

And in a crucial fight in the welterweight division, Jake Ellenberger (29-7 MMA, 8-3 UFC) and Robbie Lawler (22-10 MMA, 7-4 UFC) each were 171 pounds for their fight. They then had arguably the event’s most icy staredown before leaving the stage.

I'm keeping my eye on Lawler vs Ellenberger, that stare down was pretty intense. Before they broke Ellenberger continued to stare then Lawler turned around like "Wtf are you staring at?"

And Barao vs Dillashaw should be fight of the night and definitely get a whole lot more people paying attention to the bantamweight division. Speaking of bantamweights I believe Mizugaki vs Rivera should be a classic as well... aren't all of us bantamweights so wonderful?
