UFC 171 lineup set with St. Preux-Krylov in PPV opener, Gastelum-Story in final prelim
The 13-bout lineup is set for next month’s UFC 171 event, which includes a championship headliner between Johny Hendricks (15-2 MMA, 10-2 UFC) and Robbie Lawler (22-9 MMA, 7-3 UFC). The winner gets the welterweight title recently vacated by longtime titleholder Georges St-Pierre.
UFC 171 takes place March 15 at Dallas’ American Airlines Center. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
In addition to the Hendricks vs. Lawler title fight, a No. 1 contender could be crowned in the co-headliner when former interim welterweight titleholder Carlos Condit (29-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) meets Tyron Woodley (12-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC).
Meanwhile, in the night’s PPV opener, Ovince St. Preux (14-5 MMA, 2-0 UFC) meets fellow light heavyweight Nikita Krylov (16-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC), a replacement for recently arrested Thiago Silva (16-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC).
The prelims, meanwhile, feature eight bouts, half of which air on FOX Sports 1 following a four-bout lineup on UFC Fight Pass. In the featured prelim, “The Ultimate Fighter 17″ winner Kelvin Gastelum (7-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) takes on veteran UFC welterweight Rick Story (16-7 MMA, 9-5 UFC).
