UFC 167 drug tests come back clean for all fighters on card

The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Friday announced that drug tests were performed for all fighters at UFC 167, and the results came back negative.

The NSAC released the results for the event to MMAjunkie. UFC 167 took place this past Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event’s main card aired live on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and MMAjunkie.

UFC 167 featured a welterweight title fight main event between champion Georges St-Pierre and top contender Johny Hendricks. After five bruising rounds, St-Pierre retained his title by split decision, causing an instant outcry over the judging. UFC President Dana White, after the fight, said he scored the bout four rounds to one for Hendricks. All major media scoring the fight gave it to Hendricks, as well, though three rounds to two.

A rematch has been ordered up by White, but it will be contingent upon how soon St-Pierre is ready to go again following some down time that he announced right after the fight.

There was plenty of buildup about drug testing prior to the fight, with an ongoing debate between St-Pierre, Hendricks and their camps over using WADA or VADA testing.

A reported 14,856 fans attended the event for a live gate of $5.7 million, making it one of the most successful UFC shows ever in Las Vegas.
