The UFC 139 card was expected to feature a UFC heavyweight title matchup between
Cain Velasquez and
Junior dos Santos, but that bout was moved up a week onto the UFC on Fox card. Instead, the UFC has decided to go with a main event featuring
Vitor Belfort and former
Strikeforce middleweight champion
Cung Le. And yes, it has been confirmed that it will be the main event. Le is a local San Jose legend that is a huge draw in the city, but it's still a bit of a head-scratcher to say the least. The co-main will be a de-facto number 1 contender's matchup at bantamweight with
Urijah Faber taking on
Brian Bowles. In addition to the seven bouts announced so far, it is expected that
Jon Fitch will compete on this card as well, though an opponent hasn't been decided as of yet.
