Middleweights Chris Leben and Mark Munoz will make history at UFC 138 when they compete in the first five-round non-title fight in company history in the main event of the Spike TV show in Birmingham, England, MMA Fighting reports.
Both fighters will look to use each other as a stepping stone toward a middleweight championship shot.
Leben (26-7) has been riding a hot streak of late, winning four of his last five fights. He most recently knocked out Wanderlei Silva in 28 seconds at UFC 132. He's also bested the likes of Yoshihiro Akiyama and Aaron Simpson in that span.
Munoz (11-2) has been on a roll since moving to middleweight, going 6-1 at 185 pounds. He has won three straight since dropping a split decision to Yushin Okami last August. Munoz narrowly defeated Demian Maia by decision in an extremely competitive fight at UFC 131 last month.
