UFC 134, also being referred to as UFC Rio, takes place August 27 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the first UFC event in the country since Ultimate Brazil in 1998, and the first UFC event in Brazil under the Zuffa banner.
Silva and Okami first met in tournament for the Rumble on the Rock promotion in Honolulu, Hawaii. The referee disqualified Silva for throwing an illegal upkick in the middle of the first round. Silva is perfect in thirteen UFC fights, and he looks to defend his middleweight belt for a ninth time.
"Shogun" and Griffin meet in a rematch of a bout from UFC 76, the former's debut in the UFC. Griffin shocked the world when he submitted the then-number-one light heavyweight in the world with fifteen seconds left in the fight.
