This past weekend Luke Thomas interviewed Jorge Rivera for MMA Nation on 106.7 The Fan. During this interview they talk about a bunch of different topics including the cursed fight against Alessio Sakara, making this interview just slightly outdated. He did talk about a bunch of other topics that are relevant to not just this fight but to his fighting future as well. As a man who is currently 39 years old and could potentially have two loses in a row, it could mean that a loss next Saturday ends his UFC tenure.

Among the topics discussed:

  • The illegal knee that Michael Bisping landed during their fight in Australia at UFC 127 and if there was ever a discussion with the UFC brass about the foul
  • His plans after retiring from MMA which include both opening a gym and potentially becoming a referee or ringside judge.
  • The fight between Alessio Sakara and why UFC matchmaker Joe Silva attempted three times to put the fight together.
  • Who he believes will be the winner of the main event fight between Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz.
