Rafael dos Anjos used a wild right hook to knock out George Sotiropoulos at 59 seconds of the first round at UFC 132 in Las Vegas, NV.
Sotiropoulos was aggressive early, but during an exchange at the center of the Octagon, dos Anjos got some space and threw a wild right hook that landed square. Arms open, Sotiropolulos fell backward and the fight was called by referee Yves Lavigne.
dos Anjos (15-5) was an injury replacement for Evan Dunham and was coming off a 2nd round submission loss to Clay Guida at UFC 117. He is 4-1 in his last five fights and 4-3 overall in the UFC.
After eight wins in a row, Sotiropoulos (14-4) now has two straight defeats and the 33-year-old is now 7-2 in his UFC career.
