Despite having the nickname "Hands of Stone," Sam Stout had never recorded a knockout inside the UFC through 10 fights.

That all changed Saturday at UFC 131 in Vancouver, as Stout stopped long-time MMA veteran Yves Edwards with a big left hand, picking up his sixth UFC win in the process.

After 90 seconds of stand-up, Edwards spent the next 10 seconds trying to get Stout to the mat and he finally did. After a "Go Stout Go" chant from the partisan crowd, Stout was able to stand after about a minute on the ground. During an exchange, Stout unleashed a right to the body and a left hook that completely separated Edwards from consciousness. There was no need for any follow-up.

The time of the knockout was 3:52 of the first round.

Edwards was still down even as Stout was completing his post-fight interview.

Stout moves his UFC record to 6-5. This was his first fight in 2011 after fighting three times in 2010, going 2-1, sandwiching wins against Joe Lauzon and Paul Taylor around a loss to Jeremy Stephens.

Edwards, who first fought for the UFC at UFC 33, moves to 40-17-1 with the loss. His latest UFC run has seen him knock off both John Gunderson and Cody McKenzie.
