Dustin Poirier picked up a unanimous decision win in an exciting back-and-forth scrap with Jason Young in a featherweight fight at UFC 131.

What was the high spot of this fight?

No one moment really stood out, but the whole first round was a pretty solid display of striking from both guys, with some wildness and flashy kicks.

Where do these guys go from here?

Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier is in a good position in a quickly-evolving featherweight division. The win over Josh Grispi gave him some exposure, and while this win over a replacement fighter likely doesn't move him up the ladder much, he's still in a position to get some high-quality fights. And he's only 22 to boot. He stated post-fight that he'd be interested in fighting Erik Koch next, but with Koch meeting Jonathan Brookins in September, that's unlikely to happen. Poirier vs. the winner of the Tyson Griffin vs. Manny Gamburyan fight sounds good.

Jason "Shotgun" Young showed a lot at UFC 131 as a late replacement and almost assuredly will get another shot in the organization. His striking game showed a lot of ferocity and his takedown defense held up well for the first two rounds at least. Throw him in there with Josh Grispi and see who comes out alive.

Watch it now, later, or never?

Later. It's a good striking battle between two fast guys, but it didn't set the world on fire or anything. The fact that I can't name a high spot in the fight would indicate this.
