In a crazy second round, it was Dave Herman who outlasted PRIDE veteran Jon Olav Einemo with punches to win his UFC debut.

Both men throwing and landing heavy shots in the early going. Einemo gets a takedown into half-guard with two minutes left in the round after finally catching a Herman kick. Einemo into side control rather quickly. Herman, though, initiates a scramble and pushes Einemo off and gets back to his feet. Einemo landing more shots and gets a takedown that Herman reverses right at the bell. Einemo's round.

Einemo continues to work the right hand to start the round. A big knee out of the clinch sends Herman reeling. A weird sequence sees Einemo go down but the action is halted for Herman to get his mouth piece. On the restart, Einemo hurts Herman bad but theen Herman drops him. He goes for the finish but can't get it. They stand and both land. And again. Herman with three knees. Einemo is reeling. He tries to pull Herman down but he doesn't have anything left. Herman punches away until the referee stops it. Crazy finish to the fight.

The time of the stopagge was 3:19.

Both men were making their UFC debuts. Herman was coming off a decision win over Yoshihiro Nakao back at SRC: Soul of Fight in December. He moves to 21-2 in his career.

Einemo had been in active in MMA since 2006 when he bested James Thompson by submission.
