How did these two get here?
'Pee Wee' created his name in good part thanks to being a promising prospect and athletic freak in EXC, which showed his highlight kick on Ron Waterman to showcase said athleticism. Coasting to 15 wins in a row based on not much more than being really athletic finally cost him when he got his first loss against Mu Bae Choi at Sengoku in 2009. Herman had been haunted by reports of being lazy and unfriendly and those gained steam after his loss. That wasn't the end of bad news for Dave, he then signed with Bellator and fought over a year with them to get his second contractual fight. Lucky for Herman he is out of Bellator contract purgatory and finally with Zuffa, where he thinks he belongs.
Jon Olav Einemo has had an on again/off again relationship with MMA from the start. Taking a two year, then three year, and now finally a five year gap in between fights. Not all of this was his fault, he was out with a gruesome illness that nearly cost him his foot. Creating most of his fame in the world of submission grappling Einemo is a true stud on the ground, giving this generations greatest grappler Roger Gracie a loss at ADCC. Jon has submitted his way through middling competition thus far, at once point running off five first round finishes in a row (one via TKO). He faced Fabricio Werdum in his only fight to go out of the first round, eventually losing by decision. After another JOEesq sabbatical he returned to MMA to submit perennial contender James Thompson by armbar in the first round.... in 2006, two years before Thompson got jobbed to Kimbo Slice. That is seriously Einemo's most recent fight.
Why should you watch?
24 first round finishes in 29 fights is their combined total. That's pretty impressive, so if the fight sucks it probably won't last long.
