The German used his size and kickboxing to stifle the Australian the entire night. In the first round, Siver hurt Sotiropoulos badly as he dropped Sotiropoulos twice with punches.*It was clear that Sotiropoulos was still on wobbly legs as he went to his corner at the end of the round.
However, Sotiropoulos came out in the second round*and performed much better as he landed a couple of solid right crosses against Siver. Sotiropoulos repeatedly tried to take Siver to the ground, but he was having none of it.*Siver shrugged Sotiropoulos off each time like he was a little kid.
The third round still saw Sotiropoulos unsuccessful in taking Siver to the ground.* Siver landed the cleaner strikes, and even landed a couple of his spinning back kicks.*One of which was right before the final bell sounded.
It was a clear that Siver’s size was a huge factor in this fight.* He was also able to land his leaping left hook multiple times as well as several kick variations.*Siver was awarded the unanimous decision 29-28, 30-28, 30-27.
