I don’t think this is a simple issue. Twitter and Facebook are indeed private businesses, but anyone that doesn’t see that these social media companies have basically become the main way people communicate with each other in the same way text messaging became the older generations preferred method, which WAS considered a utility, just aren’t really seeing the bigger picture, imo.

Also, Twitter IS currently protected under a similar utility and carrier protection from being sued for what’s posted.

I just laugh at the idiots who think they can post and say whatever they want then yell “MUH FREEDOM!!!” when they get banned or in trouble for it lol. Sometimes it may not be fair, and it may be hypocritical of them to ban for one thing and not the other, 100% agree there. But the folks who think it’s stepping on their Freedom of Speech are dumb IMO. Because as long as you aren’t being tossed in real jail or anything like that for your opinion, you still have the freedoms to say what you want. But these sites also have the Freedom to not want you there.
