TV Ratings: 'Bones' Move Boosts Demo, March Madness Concludes on an Upswing

Time zone-adjusted numbers for Monday's NCAA men's basketball championship game won't be available until later in the day, but fast affiliate ratings have the Kentucky-Kansas matchup poised to best last year's game, with a 7.0 rating among adults 18-49. That's up 4 percent from a 6.7 for last year's title game, securing an easy win for CBS regardless of the final outcome.
NBC's The Voice entered live broadcasts down 9 percent to a 4.1 in the 18-49 demo, while Smash got a 5 percent bump for a 2.2 rating among adults. The network earned a second place showing of a 3.4 in the demo for the night and 9.1 million viewers.
Dancing With the Stars dropped 13 percent from the previous Monday's performance series, giving the ABC competition a new Monday low of a 2.8 in the demo. It was only topped by basketball among total viewers, though, netting 16.5 million viewers. Castle earned a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49, giving ABC an average of a 2.6 demo rating and 15.1 million viewers.
The already renewed Bones returned on Fox in its new Monday slot, improving 4 percent for a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 from its most recent original. That made it the top-rated drama of the night and Monday's top performer for the network, outpacing House and Alcatraz. A new House brought in a a 2.2 in the demo. Fox averaged a 2.4 with 18-49-ers and 7.5 million viewers.
A new Gossip Girl earned a 0.5 rating with adults 18-49 for the CW.
