TUF China Finale adds Nam Phan vs. Vaughan Lee, tournament finals
The TUF China Finale, a live conclusion to “The Ultimate Fighter: China†reality series, has added three bouts, including two tournament finals and a bantamweight bout between Nam Phan (18-12 MMA, 2-5 UFC) vs. Vaughan Lee (13-9-1 MMA, 2-3 UFC).
UFC officials today announced the additions.
The TUF China Finale takes place March 1 at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.
Although always a game competitor, Phan likely needs a win to save his job. After returning from a yearlong layoff, the Strikeforce/Sengoku/WEC vet and “The Ultimate Fighter 12″ cast member suffered a hard-fought decision loss to Takeya Mizugaki. He’s now lost two straight and three out of his past four.
He now meets English 135-pounder Lee, who looks to continue his alternation of losses and wins in the UFC. Most recently, he followed a decision win over Motonobu Tezuka with a submission defeated to Raphael Assuncao. He recently pulled out of a planned UFC 167 bout with Sergio Pettis due to an injury.
The event also will see the tournament finals for “TUF: China.†They include a quartet of UFC newcomers with welterweights Wang Sai (6-4-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Zhang Lipeng (6-7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and featherweights Yang Jianping (6-3-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) vs. Ning Guangyou (3-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
The latest TUF China Finale lineup now includes:
