The Ultimate Fighter 14 started its run last night, and the ratings were pretty comparable to the last few seasons. The two-hour season premiere scored a 1.1 rating and averaged 1.5 million viewers. It was number one-rated program for males 18-34 and males 18-49, and was the second-highest rated program of the day for males 18-49. The first episode was arguably one of the best ever, and featured a ton of entertaining fights as the competitors needed to defeat an opponent to get into the TUF house.

While it can't compare to The Ultimate Fighter 10's incredible debut that averaged 4.1 million viewers, it's pretty similar to TUF 13 (1.6 million) and TUF 12 (1.9 million). This season is the first to have featherweights and bantamweights competing, and features Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller as coaches. The coaches will meet in the season finale, currently scheduled for December 3rd.

This season of the show will be the last on Spike TV, due to the UFC signing a broadcast deal with Fox. The next season of the show will air on a Fox affiliate that hasn't been determined yet.
