I think it's ok. He's not really acting like a stereotypical babyface by pandering to the audience and whatnot, but moreso like a counterpart to Batista's heel return. Mr. Dave already wanted to come back as a heel back in 2014 and the company paid the price for not doing that, so this year he didn't just get his way with the wanted retirement match but also with his approach of returning as a heel. The fact that Triple H and Ric Flair have been close friends is pretty well known, so they just capitalized off of that to kick the feud off

Tbf I had to Google which one was the spin off because the US version is way more known and popular than the one with Ricky.

He's pandering to all of the smarks. Writing Batistas promos and then giving obvious responses. Everything he said in that promos was paper thin and obvious.

I totally hate it from a storyline standpoint.
For one, the Authority. Yeah you two were never consistent about it at all because you couldn't stop kissing your own ass enough to be a villain, but when I see Triple H and Stephanie out I remember them hating on Daniel Bryan and firing Dolph and talking Seth into betraying his friends and something something women's revolution.

For two, after what's going to go down in history as an all-time terrible Raw segment when the PEOPLE BECAME THE AUTHORITY, when the McMahons took back control of Raw and SD from Corbin and Paige, Vince has been Retro Vince all over again. He's been playing his favorites and handing Charlotte title shots and hating on Kofi for no reason.

If the McMahons are "one collective unit", why can Vince and Shane be evil but Triple H and - especially - Stephanie be good?

I mean Triple H should be the babyface honestly when you look at it. He created and runs NXT, and I know how many of you pure wrestling NXT fan boys are all out there. Batista left WWE and is a big time Hollywood movie star, which can go either way but its more heel.

I think the issue to some is that it is a stark transition from what he was presented as on the main roster to now. I'm all for the idea of making him consistent between NXT and main roster because that is such a problem in general as the recent call ups shown. EC3 who usually never shuts up has rarely talked, Lacey has become a walking cat-walk, long-time rivals were teaming in DIY, and Black and Ricochet, although allies, were not a tag team before the main roster brought them together. I get why he is a babyface in this storyline, and after years of Triple H as the villain, that ideas become tiring just like when he had his Reign of Terror on Raw in the early 2000s but there are still issues when it comes to the portrayal of the McMahons as a whole.

Triple H is just so unlikeable. I listen to Batistas promo in he's office and I agree with everything he says. Triple H just gives a weak response and gives this shitty performance of being an indy smark. How can you expect people to cheer for Triple H.
