If Greg Marascuilo (Trent Barreta) wins tonight I will mark the fuck out. I've supported him through his career when he was treated like shit in WWE, wrestled in the indies and now in TNA where it could all pay off! Who do you guys want to win?

Bringing in an ex-WWE jobber and sticking a title on him as soon as he shows up would have been horrible for business. There's no way they could have done that.
They've gotta get the "We'll make a star out of any ex-WWE guy" stigma away from them.
As a Trent fan it's better if he waits anyway, winning the X-Title means nothing now.

With Sabin returning from 2 years of injury, putting the belt on him made for a good story (and come to think of it may have been planned for Sorenson, idk), legitimized option C, gave ratings a boost, pushed a TNA Original like the fans have been clamoring for out of one side of their mouths, did something unpredictable like they haven't done for a long time, changed up a stale ass main event... Hate the way it was done all you want but you can't rip this move imo. You just can't.

Actually that's true. I'm also excited about Sabin's title reign and the steel cage match will be dope. I expect something happening there for some reason. As I said once, the time when Brooke "saved" Bully makes me think she'll hand Bully an object and Bully will win, then Styles vs Bully would take part at BFG
