Transformers 4 is getting quite a bit of an overhaul in terms of its cast. Bleeding Cool reports that Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner spoke at the UBS Best Of Americas 2012 Conference and said that the fourth film in the franchise will have a new cast of robots.
Goldner noted that while Transformers: Dark of the Moon did well financially, it did not do well in merchandising. Thus, the company will bring in a new cast of robots that they can market as toys.
The fourth film is being written by Ehren Kruger, with a June 27th, 2014 release date. Michael Bay is directing again, with the budget said to be smaller and the film supposedly taking place "off-planet." Bay has also said he is setting the stage for a new director to take over the franchise.
I'm sure this'll surprise no one, Transformer has not exactly been a franchise based around fine acting and storytelling.
