CHARACTER HISTORY

Tora Fushimi was born in Tokyo, March 24, 1995. Infatuated with pop culture from a young age, Tora's singular focus was always on becoming a celebrity. This resulted in him competing in any variety of talent show, open mic or competition he could find.

His first taste of real fame came in his late teens when he ascended to celebrity status as one of the country's premiere competitive surfers. However, he realized there was a limit to how big his star could grow as a surfer. In 2013 at the impressionable age of 18, Tora took part in a popular Japanese reality series where small time celebrities move into a house with civilians and over the course of several months, aim to find their true love. Thanks to his eccentric look and braggadocious personality, Tora's star rose rapidly and he would wind up being the breakout star of the show. Over the course of the series, Tora was one of the celebrities who would find "love" in the house and at the end of the season, he and his partner were voted by the home audience to receive a lavish wedding on primetime TV.

In early 2014, Tora would marry Akari Mitsunaga in front of a television audience of millions. By mid-2014 the marriage had ended, with Akari citing Tora's ego and thirst for attention as sources of conflict. Tora was quoted as saying "She knew what she was getting into."

The fame Tora had attained in such a short span, combined with what many say was already a highly volatile mental state to begin with, resulted in a predictable going off the rails for the young celebrity. He starred in two straight-to-video movies which were panned by critics and ended his acting career before it ever started. Between 2015 and 2016, Tora Fushimi fronted a J-pop band called [IMMACULATE] despite having no formal training as a musician or a good singing voice. An album was released titled "FIRE DOES NOT BURN IN A JAR". Though the album spawned at least one mild hit, [IMMACULATE] would not last long as Tora publicly blew up on his bandmates on stage at a charity fundraising event, quitting the band then and there. Despite efforts to reform the band later that week, Tora was turned down. In the time since the dissolution of [IMMACULATE], Tora has released several solo tracks to no acclaim.

In 2016, the International Olympic Committee voted to include Surfing in the 2020 Olympic Games for the first time in history. With the 2020 Olympics set to take place in Tokyo, despite not surfing for years prior, Tora made it known that his goal was to qualify for the Japanese National Team. In 2017, he began to film of documentary which he would share through social media, highlighting his training for the competition. In reality, it amounted mostly to Tora bragging and making jokes into the camera, throwing temper tantrums at his coaches, and doing the occasional surfing. In 2018, Tora was informed, point blank, that he would absolutely not be competing in the 2020 Olympics. Tora responded by hosting his very own surfing competition, which he billed as "Bigger than the Olympics". The competition featured 12 surfers from an intermediate level, including Tora, and was streamed live on Instagram. Tora came in last in the competition, but would later claim that he hosted the event to give other surfers a spotlight and the winner was awarded 2,000,000 yen (roughly $20,000), though the winner of the competition flat out denied, stating that none of the competitors were compensated and Tora actually tried to bribe his competition into throwing the contest.

Later in 2018, Fushimi would fire his agent and search for new representation to get his career back on track. Having completely ruined his reputation and burned his bridges in Japan, Fushimi had to seek out representation elsewhere. He would ultimately hire Douglas Watson from London, England to represent him. Douglas was himself falling on hard times with his agency, though he formerly represented several successful athletes and entertainers, until a competing agency stole his clients and nearly put him out of business. Nowadays, Douglas is a nervous wreck with his life falling to pieces around him. His agency is on the brink of dying, his marriage is on the rocks, his finances are drained and he's developed a serious drinking problem. With Tora now being his highest profile client, he is more or less Douglas' last hope at keeping his life's work afloat. Similarly, Tora is counting on Douglas to preserve what's left of his celebrity and take his career to new heights.

Seeing as Tora had ventured into almost every facet of entertainment, Douglas suggested he try something new: pro wrestling. Douglas suggested the new career path due to his experience managing wrestlers in the past, as well as Fushimi's fenertic personality and natural athleticism. Tora, ever willing (or desparate) to try anything for some fame, happily agreed to take on the challenge. However, it wasn't easy going. Tora started, and subsequently quit, training at four different wrestling schools in Japan and The United Kingdom over the course of three months. In November 2018, Tora made his pro wrestling debut for a Japanese comedy company, winning his debut match and showing that he had taken to the sport like a fish to water, even earning rave reviews in several wrestling publications, despite having very little in the way of formal training. Throughout 2019, Tora would continue to work smaller companies in Japan, The United Kingdom, and America, becoming a bit of a comeback story in Japan media, though still having many detractors who claimed his career was over and he was now clinging to relevance.

In 2020, Tora Fushimi was announced as a signing to the newly minted XWF. A risky move to be sure, given his combustible behavior. How things will play out is yet to be seen, but Tora is promising to bring only the highest quality of entertainment to fans and management!

ENTRANCE INFORMATION

ENTRANCE MUSIC: "Bubblin" by Anderson .Paak

cwahrbr2.png

REGULAR ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION

"Bubblin" by Anderson .Paak begins to rumble over the PA as the lights in the arena drop down to blackness with occasional flutters of bright white. The intro plays out and just as the beat flourishes and the lyrics begin, purple and green lasers begin swirling on the stage, and the arena becomes illuminated with a blacklight. Standing in the center of the stage with a smug grin is the ever confident Tora Fushimi with his arms spread wide. He encourages the fans to raise their voice for him as he walks down the aisle. In an exaggerated manner, he feigns appreciation for the fans and pretends to well up from the love he's receiving.

Reina de la Cruz: Currently making his way to the ring, from Tokyo, Japan... weighing in at 189 pounds... he is the self proclaimed star of the show, talk of the town, and cock of the walk... "The Immaculate" Tora Fushimi!

Fushimi jumps up on the apron and climbs to the second rope on the outside. He peers over the audience and throws up a "hang loose" sign with his tongue out, and then hops into the ring. He spends a minute doing circles around the ring soaking in the crowd and complimenting himself. Finally he makes his way to a corner and hops up, taking a seat on the top rope with his feet on the second rope, waiting for the match to get underway.
