During the meeting before the ECW/SmackDown! tapings yesterday, Batista asked Stephanie McMahon what he could do legally about his name being included in the recent media reports, citing publicly in front of the crew that he had never received anything from the online pharmacy companies. Stephanie told him that was an issue he and his attorneys should look into, also mentioning that she was under the impression he was already doing that (which would mean a civil lawsuit seeking damages).

Batista claims that there was no connection between him and the pharmacies and he is very upset at Sports Illustrated and other media outlets for reporting his name.

hmmm.....

Batista took steroids, bottom line. I can guarantee at one time or another that he got his hands on the stuff...I mean..look at him! If he wants to sue then...thats fine I guess, but what Sports Illistrated said was probably just a rumor

he's just pissy because people may realize that he's juiced before even if he is clean right now

lol this is like Batista suing the internet. We could totally make a topic saying batista is juiced and if he seen it,he'd cry and ask if he could sue us lol Rather he got the roids from the online pharm is irrelevant, the dude is about as jacked up on roids and steiner is lol And now that he *might* get supsended if he's one of the 10 stars he's going to cry about it. Suck it up and step up and take blame for your mess up!!

yeah he took roids obviously, but if it's not from the online pharmacy and SI say it's from an online pharmacy without any proof then it's libel and batista can win a shitload of money.batista won't sue us anyway he'll sue the owner of the website and unless the latter is rich there's no point to it.

Uh....he can't do that. It's freedom of press, it's in the Constitution...what a fucking idiot. It's seriously like he's a little 3rd Grader wanting something so he has to go cry and sue somebody

uh.. yes he can.True it's freedom of press, but it's also slander.

In a business thats under fire from the media, the last thing you want is your name being brought up in something like that.

Regardless of whether he's on them of not,he is not involved in that case.

I mean,i get angry if a silly rumour goes around about me between friends,
so imagine how you would feel if someone was telling the entire world lies about you.

I'd go nuts.

Of course he can sue the idiots that included his name in this scandal, idiots. It is slander. His name has been included in this scnadal and he is branded a druggie/cheat. It is possible that he took drugs, but there is no proof, so his name shouldn't be thrown around so easily. I hope he does sue who news outlet who included his name in this, and wins.

yes it's diffamation when the diffamation is in words it's slander when the diffamation is in writing it's libel, but in either case freedom of expression does'nt allow you to downgrade a person's reputation without sufficient proof to back your statement.if batista is not involved with the online pharmacy and they can't prove that he is, he WILL win ,the only issue is how much he wants as damages for moral prejudice.

Batista is the new owner of Sports Illustrated.

I would do the same thing. If they published something like that, and it wasnt true, I would sue for everything. And like everyone has said freedom of press doesnt fit here. Freedom of press just states that it cannot be censored, and that you have the right to say what you want to say. But just like on this message board, you can type whatever you want to type. But if someone dont like it, and you offended someone, or slandered/tarnished/verbally harassed, you can get sued for it. And you will lose...

GO BATISTA!!

BTW - LOL SP

He's not a washed out wrestler, so its impossible for him to even think of making a step down in his career to join what so called T.N.A show :p
