- Rey Mysterio is said to be working through a lot of pain at the moment, with news that his ACL and PCL are completely destroyed. It’s said his injured joint is virtually bone-on-bone and that he requires knee surgery as soon as possible.

Source - WNZ

Can seriously see him retiring in the next couple of years. That stuff could cripple him for his life if he keeps going,.

Wow yeah... you gotta believe this might be it for Rey. How many knee surgeries will this make? Like 5?

This is bad, Edge is out right now for a torn ACL and that is one of the worst injuries you can have. Edge probably wont even be wrestling at WM26. Rey should not be facing Batista at Survivor Series if he knows whats good for him.

Rey's injuries are much, much worse than a torn ACL. ACL can be repaired with quite simple surgeries these days, wearing the cartilage on your knee down to the bone is how arthritis starts, which will be with Rey till the end of his life.

It amazes me that he can still wrestle as great as he does.

not much of a big star, I can see this not hurting the Smackdown ratings, due for smackdown being on a Friday night. Since WWE makes USA there #1 Priority over any other country. Smackdown should be fine and there buyrates will be alright since they have decline in each buyrates from last Year PPV's. So No biggie at all

Rey Mysterio is still popular with the kiddies. He'd be second behind Cena in merch sales i reckon. Or third behind DX and Cena.

Plus 08/09 has been his best year in yonks.

Move bourne to smackdown when rey goes out for surgery i say. Capitilize on him. Rey out again? I mean this time make sure you fix the guys knee. Vince may lose patience with him if he has to have more surgery. He cant sell t shirts from a hospital bed.

I would imagine they'll use his match with Batista at SS to "put him out".

Mysterio got way too big the past couple of years, and that's probably why he's so injury prone now. It sucks to see him end up like this, he's still pretty young.

Bourne would be great to fill that high-flyer, good guy role, but he can't be nowhere near as big a draw to the Hispanic-American audience as Mysterio is. Maybe they can bring up Low Ki/Kawal, or some of the lucha guys, but Mysterio can be the biggest money maker without doing anything on Smackdown.

Yup... Bourne is probably the only up and comer left I see the possibility of maybe filling that kiddie merch undying fan love/spot monkey position of Jeff and Rey. They better starting building him now cause there's a good chance they're going to need him to do so really soon.

Thing is what next for Batista if he does take out Rey? i think taker will fight Kane after Kane screws him this week on s.down or at survivor series
