Tyler Black called FIP officials early this morning and informed them he will be unable to appear this evening in Crystal River due to a neck injury suffered last night in Chicago while wrestling for Danny Daniels' AAW.

Due to the potentially serious nature of his injury, and Tyler being unsure as to when he will be able to defend the FIP World Title, FIP officials informed him that they have no choice other than to strip him of the World Title and award it to Davey Richards tonight in Crystal River due to forfeit.

FIP prides itself on its titles being won and lost in the ring, and are disappointed that is not going to be the case this time, however the long term health of one of the best young athletes in wrestling is paramount. FIP wishes Tyler a speedy recovery and look forward to his return when healthy.

Bad for ROH, but I laughed.

No, not Black, I thought the storyline they were doing with him was good and I was hoping that they would be able to continue it.

rofl, sucks for Black, FIP and ROH. Black loses the FIP World title, FIP loses there Champ and have to strip him of the belt and ROH's biggest newcomer is hurt

Hopefully its nothing too serious and he should be back in a couple months.

Real bad time for ROH, with Briscoe, Nigel and i don't think Dragon is wrestling a full schedule. They've really put a lot of eggs in Tyler's basket, plus they really didn't have a finale to his fued with Jacobs.

Oh yeah....I thought that was only for a few weeks though?

Plus he's not really a main eventer....but ROH is hurting right now. Oddly enough a lot of these injuries come, after they water down their style slightly.

Well shit. That sucks. Hopefully it's not that bad and he recovers quickly.

Also, I fail to see how this is funny.

Considering Black got injured in an AAW show, I can't exactly say its ROH's fault for having such a high risk style of wrestling. But I do think that with all these upper card guys getting injured lately that ROH seriously needs to consider toning it down a bit. Sure seeing the stiffest lariats in the world is sometimes awesome, but if its going to be at the cost of only having your stars around for 2-3 years tops thats a helluva deadly cycle and it needs to be fixed.

Yeah, it's a double edged sword.

On the other hand, the all out athletic style is exactly what sets them apart from the big 2.

They need it to establish their brand on TV.
