1-HBK VS Bret Hart, Survivor Series, 1997

I can't be bothered making a list right now, but this HAS to be the top match. In the annals of WWE history, this may be one of the only matches that lives forever, it is almost on the same level as Hogan slamming Andre for memory value. It created Mr. McMahon, who has been a staple since then, and it's just a moment that has, and always will, transcend time.

^^^^Will always be surrounded by a big "what if" to me.... I'd have loved to have seen that match reach a decent conclusion.... It was fuckin' awesome up until the screwjob.


S'funny, up until considering this thread it hadn't occurred to me just how few of the SS-tag matches I actually recall... Most of those were from the first 2 or 3....

Hogan's Vs Andre's team '87. <<<< Hogan not even the last man for his team AND Andre wins... Totally against the grain - Brilliant!
Demolition's Vs Powers Of Pain's team '88. <<<< The previous year's 20-man had better action, but the double turn of the head teams was huge (at the time at least)!
Kings Court Vs The 2x4s '89. <<<< I used to hate Duggan back then and to see him get totally battered 4-on-1 against Savage, Earthquake, Bravo & [insert missing wrestler here] was sweet. (Re-wound and laughed at MANY times!)
Million Dollar Team V Dream Team '90 <<<< Taker's debut, wiping out Dusty's team in no time. Also to my mind, the begining of the singles rise of Bret Hart... Last eliminated for his team and the only one to make ANY kind of impact against Taker.
Ultimate Survivors Match '90 <<<< Purely because this was a great idea which for some reason was never repeated (WHY?????)

Other matches... Savage/Perfect V Flair/Razor 92, Bret V Diesel 95, Bret V Austin 96, Hogan V Taker 91... Damn I'm struggling here.... Taker V Yoko 94, Elimination Chamber 02, Bret V Backlund 94...

I have no memory of 2000 & 1999 at all... 1998 was decent for storyline alone (no great matches to speak of tho')... 2001 final match was dissapointing IMO.....

It has to be Bret Hart vs. HBK in '97 honestly it was brilliant but i do prefer the traditional survivor matches with the 6 man elimination tag because its so hectic.

But the moment can never be re-done unless they do it, but court cases will come from it now...

i agree with sp HBK/Sid is probably Psycho Sid greatest match of his Career....sadly RR97 couldnt be the same

I only had 1 problem with this one. The stip turned out to be worthless (Austin never coming back), because he returned a couple of weeks after getting "fired". I will admit that HBK put on one hell of a performance in this match.
