For all the MMA fans on here, I think it has to be said as to who your top 10 personal favs are in the UFC or any other surrounding promotion. I'll start by revealing mine:
So let's hear it guys. Who're you top 10 favs?
1. Georges St-Pierre - Not only will he go down as the best pound for pound fighter on the face of the earth. But he's also the best representitive of the sport in truly bestowing the martial arts spirit. He definitely makes my list as my top favourite fighter of all time.
2. Anthony Pettis - Currently my favorite active UFC fighter. If you haven't seen this guy you don't know what the fuck you're missing. With flying, spinning kicks and a flashy bottom game to add. Anthony Pettis has every making to be the next best fighter in the world should he not get sidelined by so many injures.
3. Cain Velasquez - Usually I'm not a big fan of wrestlers, however if you watch this man fight, he is relentless with his ground and pound. And his record of holding the most knockout victories for any UFC heavyweight and average of the most significant strikes are good reminders.
4. Jose Aldo - Imagine Andeson Silva 3 years younger when he first made his way inside the octagon, and who hadn't even hit his prime. Scared yet? Jose Aldo is probably one of the most explosive fighters in the UFC today, and given some more time in the spotlight. This guy could easily be another candidate to be the top pound for pound fighter in the world.
5. Jon Jones - Hard to argue that Jon Jones is the greatest fighter in the world today. His 7 light heavyweight title defenses are the most held by any active UFC fighter and the most in his weight class today. To add to his impressive resume is his highly effective fighting style which forces fans from everywhere to pay attention.
6. Dustin Poirier - The first non champion on my list, Dustin Poirier is one of the most exciting fighters to watch in the UFCs featherweight division. He also holds the most wins in his weight class with a record of 8-2 and his 81.25% finishing rate alongside his three post fight bonuses show why this "Diamond" shines in my personal favorites.
7. Urijah Faber - Although Urijah Faber's record stands at 30-7, every single loss on that record is a title fight. And The California Kid certainly doesn't disappoint when he steps into the octagon as well. With a 90% finishing rate and a current UFC record of 6-3 with 4 submissions, Urijah Faber is easily one of the most exciting fighters in the UFCs bantamweight division.
8. Benson Henderson Many people might find it odd that I include Benson Henderson on my list seeing as my list seems to develop an eye for finishers. All of his wins have gone to decision, but every fight Benson makes his opponent work, and was arguably winning his lone loss against Anthony Pettis until he was caught in that nasty armbar (which anyone would tap to).
9. Miesha Tate - The most popular lady on the UFC roster, Miesha Tate makes my list at number 9. Although her record stands at 1-2, those two losses were fights with title implications which earned her fight of the night honors. One thing has been proven in those losses that although Tate can be put away, you have to try pretty damned hard!
10. Anderson Silva - Now before I get any death threats, the only reason I ranked Silva so low is because he kind of let fame get to his head. No doubt he will be debated alongside Georges St-Pierre as the greatest fighter of our generation, but when you drop your hands and disrepct your opponents stand up... it doesn't look good for the sport.
Honrable mentions go out to; Carlos Condit, Wanderlei Silva, Matt Brown, Jim Miller, & Donald Cerrone.
