Tony Khan says AEW will not be moving to two-day pay-per-views for "the long-term foreseeable future."

Dustin Rhodes mentioned during a panel discussion at Terrificon recently that he had heard AEW would potentially be moving to multi-day events "down the pike." Khan appeared on Busted Open Radio on Wednesday and refuted these claims, however.

"I saw a report that we were talking about doing two-day pay-per-views yesterday and I was like, 'well, who said that?' and then I looked and it was Dustin [Rhodes]," Khan said. "I was like, 'why would Dustin say that?' And I love Dustin so much but I was surprised that he said it because it's not something we've really internally seriously discussed."

"At most maybe I said, 'hey, that's an interesting business model' but far from ever saying that's how I'm taking our stuff or that's what I'm going to do. So, I'm definitely not doing that. That being said, even if I was and I'm not, I probably wouldn't want somebody to break that news in a panel but I can honestly say that's not what we're doing, anyway, but I was surprised by that. For at least for the long-term foreseeable future I still see all the pay-per-views being the great one-day events we've been doing."

Outside of Wrestlemania, I don’t think anyone needs to do a 2 day PPV.

And I only say that about Mania because I don’t think anyone wants to sit through a 7 1/2-8 hour show

That was the whole reason Wrestle Kingdom went to two days as well, they were putting out similar insane lengths. I'm still undecided on if it's better or not bc two days still feels so weird in both cases but also they were way too long....cutting time not an option tho bc they want to get mostly everyone on the cards so I'm fine with settling for two days for those two

I forgot about Wrestle Kingdom but that’s exactly right. Wanna get everyone on the show and nobody tryna have a show that damn show.

Most crowds are dead by the main event

Personally I'm fine with insanely long all day shows, they should just start earlier as opposed to ending crazy late. Have a more traditional "prelim" part like UFC does where it's not expected all the fans show up or a ton of people watch. Sure people would then complain about so and so being stuck on the pre-show like they do now but who cares lol

Nah two day WM's are the better version of modern Wrestlemanias. I fucking love WM35 but it was too long in one sitting.

With that stacked roster I would totally understand if they had to do this some day.

yeah like, I get it, they do them on long US weekends. The September one is fine I will be off Monday too as it's labor day. But even with that, Saturdays are just better for me I like to do nothing Sundays :p
