A lightweight matchup between The Ultimate Fighter 13 winner Tony Ferguson and veteran Dennis Hallman has been booked for UFC on Fox 3 on May 5 in New Jersey, the UFC announced on Monday afternoon.
Ferguson (13-2) has posted wins over Aaron Riley and Yves Edwards after winning TUF 13 at welterweight last summer, while Hallman (51-14-2) bounced back from a first-round TKO to Brian Ebersole at UFC 133 with a first-round submission of John Makdessi last month at UFC 140, though “Superman†missed weight for the bout.
UFC on Fox 3 does not yet have a main event, but features lightweight contenders Jim Miller vs. Nate Diaz as well as John Dodson vs. Darren Uyenoyama at flyweight.
