On Sunday, TNA Impact Wrestling once again teamed up with Screenvision, a leading innovator in cinema advertising and alternative content programming, to bring Bound For Glory to fans nationwide in over 100 theaters across the United States. The turnout, however, was disastrous.

According to the Wrestler Observer Newsletter, it is estimated that between 500 and 1,000 people nationwide attended the 100 theater showings altogether. These figures are way below previous TNA shows, and also below UFC shows. UFC ceased airing shows in movie theaters since it wasn't considered cost effective.

I'm just surprised TNA went down that route. I have no idea how much they have to pay to have it aired like that but I would love to know if it's actually profitable, and not just wasted effort, because they really shouldn't have expected massive turn outs with the ratings/viewership declining like it has if you compare it to last year. I genuinely think wrestling is just getting less popular, not TNA getting "worse".

I wouldn't do that if I were running TNA... they're not big enough to draw a profitable number of viewers in a situation like this.

GrammarNazi should chime in this thread bcuz she was watching it in theater, so can get a first hand experience.

Yeah, it's Meltzer, but we KNOW the realistic numbers don't lie and crowd can't be fantastic. Btw, his range of 500-1000 is hilarious. It almost beats his 50% thing.
