On TNA's fifth year anniversary:
"It's a big, momentous time for us. There were a lot of naysayers at the very beginning who didn't give us three months to be in business. We have fought and clawed and scratched our way to become a very successful business. It's overwhelming, really."

On if TNA has started to turn a profit:
"We're finally in a situation where we're starting to generate some serious revenue. It's just been through the years of hard work and the combination of different revenue streams. It is our Slammiversary, but it is our 'turning point' pay-per-view, would be apropos at this time for us."

On Spike TV and getting a second hour:
"That's our goal to be at two hours in the fall. I hope it's with Spike, but if not Spike, then something better for the brand. Spike has been a fantastic partner for us. They gave us a shot. We'll never forget that. But we've come in and we've proven ourselves. I hope it is with them. ... We've got to make the right decision for TNA. ... I think we'll know something in the next few months."

On Ring of Honor getting a PPV deal:
"We wish them all the luck in the world, but when they enter into a different side of the business, we no longer can work to the level that we were. We just wish them luck. That does keep us from the exchange of talent that we've had in the past."

Anyone with half of a brain knows that REVENUE, and PROFIT are two completely different things. TNA may be raking in 5 millions dollars Revenue, but if they are spending 10 Million, THey are making a loss. Carter doesnt mention the word profit and tna in the same sentence.

Precisely.

TNA has yet to turn a profit in the 5 years its been in business. The only thing keeping it alive is the backing of Panda Energy. If the Carters ever decide to pull out of TNA, we'll be seeing Vince on the very next edition of Impact.

I actually think TNA has put a clause in the contract that panda energy cannot sell it to the Mcmahon family. But, that doesnt mean the second the owner can't sell it. Not many people would be willing that take a chance of them.

I do truly hope that TNA gets 2 hours. Just so that the questions can finally be answered and we'll know one way or the other whether TNA is good enough to continue for another 5 years.

I don't See TNA as being WCW, IMO WCW was far superior. The problem with TNA is it doesn't have an identity. WWE is known for its over the top angles and wacky characters, Ring Of Honor is a complete alternative to WWE and it focuses on more of a wrestling aspect of things, but where does that leave TNA? TNA says they are a alternative, but are they really? Every week TNA becomes more and more like the WWE. They have too much and they try to stuff it all into one hour of television. Another huge problem is the casual fans still doesn't know TNA exist...WWE is in cruise control right now, they could put on two crappy shows back to back, and next week the viewer will be in front of the TV waiting for another crappy show. TNA has to be a the top of their game, and though this past months iMPACT's have been top notch, they still have been averaging 1.0 rating's. If TNA has a great storyline up their sleeves (WCW had NWO) it wouldn't make sense to use it now for the simple fact that nobody would watch, except the same people who watch every week. TNA is at a very important stage right now, and they need a huge superstar to come in and shake things up (WCW had Hogan). From my understanding, Rob Van Dam will be in TNA soon....is RVD the star who will put TNA over...probably not, but he can definitely help. As most of you know, I'm not the biggest TNA fan in the world, but I do feel a lot of you are writing them off too soon, look at WWE, they were not an overnight success. It took them years before they became the huge promotion they are today. A lot of people forget how young TNA truly is. Just a few years ago TNA was on FSN during the day averaging 0.2 ratings. TNA has came a long way, give them time, I'm sure they will grow, but for now just enjoy TNA for what it is.

OK alot has already been said, so I wanna sift through to say where I stand. MS made a good point bout wanting TNA to get the 2 hours so the questions can be answered once and for all. Right now its unfair to compare WWE and TNA together cuz WWE has 5 hours a week and TNA only has 1, but if TNA got 2 we'd be able to see them at their best not trying to cram everything into an hour. Rell mentioned RVD, and just like Angle I don't think RVD will do much of anything for TNA other than be another former WWE Star, and a big name. If TNA were WWE's equal or close to it, then big names jumping ship would matter, but until then eh, it does nothing. TNA has come a long way, and still has a ways to go, if they dont worry about WWE, and just do whats best for them then they will be fine.

I agree. Probably the best post i've read in a long time. In my mind, TNA shouldnt need a big star star to make them better. THey gotta learn how to use the talent they have first. They have more talent than they know what to do with. I think russo has developed their characters better, but they are long a ways off.
