TNA is interested in signing Shelton Benjamin, who was released from WWE last week. With Benjamin's former tag team partner Charlie Haas currently a free agent, many within TNA want to see the company sign both Haas and Benjamin and reunite them with their former onscreen "mentor" in WWE, Kurt Angle.

"Team Angle" was a dominant force on the SmackDown brand almost 10 years ago and that gimmick was arguably the peak of Haas and Benjamin's WWE careers.

Benjamin is the only recent WWE release that TNA is looking to pick up at this time.

Like we didn't know this would happen. The question is will it happen before Angle and Hogan make a surprise appearance on RAW?

Good luck to Haas abnd Benjamin. They could get some decent feuds going with Beer money and the MCMG.

No, this is stupid. Why doesn't TNA create their own angles? All we get is fucking rehashes over and over again. First, rumors of an ECW invasion (we're in the year 2010 btw), then they want to reunite Team Angle, this is getting ridiculous. I want Shelton to be signed and given an ORIGINAL gimmick, along with a push to help reinvigorate the X-Division. If I was booking, I'd have him come out after the X Title match at Sacrifice, then have him stare down the winner and point at him (aka what Lashley did at Lockdown last year). Also, have Benjamin come out in a suit with pimpin glasses on or something, to change his look a little bit.

Dixie Carter said TNA doesn't want to recreate history, they want to MAKE history. Alright then, PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS DIXIE

I fully agree with you, except for the pimpin glasses, but you have to remember who's running the show now and that this is WCW 2.0....ok 1.5

Personally I've always liked Haas and Benjamen as singles guys but they were strongest as a tag team. Putting them in a tag team may help the tag division also and they can still do singles matches in the X-Division and for the Global title (Shelton=X-Division Haas=Global).

I'm perplexed at how many former WCW employees work for TNA. Just look at this simple logic for example, it shows exactly why this company will never go anywhere.

WCW died...so...LETS HIRE EVERYONE THAT WORKED THERE!

AWESOME~!

Bob Carter is going to pull the plug eventually, he's going to notice TNA isn't making money and it probably never will

I have no problem with this and quite frankly I have been anticipating it. WGTT/Team Angle was the best I've seen of both Haas and Benjamin.

What do you mean by partial source, Double J? Not trying to talk smack or ugly, but The Observer is THE source. I just notice everytime you post news you put partial source. Just want some clarification.

And this won't work. Nothing TNA has tried under the Hogan regime has worked. Why continue to waste money on talent that never drew a dime? Good lord, spend that money on some fucking advertising. Or better yet, don't spend it. TNA really needs to cut it's roster in half. They are only producing 3 hours of television a week (they air their B show over seas, forgot what it's called, like Explosion or something) they really don't need the 50 or so workers they have, they only need 25 at best.

Nothing TNA has tried has worked.

Just needed a little fixing.

While I liked WGTT, that was in 2003. I'm in agreement with both Enzo and ChessArmy about this. Don't bring Shelton in. Save your money, TNA.

But.....if TNA HAS to bring in Shelton, bring him in solo, give him a mic and tell him he has 5 or 6 minutes to air his grievances without necessarily mentioning his former employer by name.

Something along the lines of "You know who I am and you probably think you know why I'm here, but I'm gonna set you straight on a few things...."

No flashy gimmick, no mama, no interruptions to build a go nowhere story, just a guy pissed off that he wasn't given the chance he deserved, telling us why he wasn't and what he's going to do in TNA. Then book him strong, though not to the moon and give him someone good to build a rivalry with - McGuinness or Dinero perhaps.

I think it could work. Hell, at this point, it can't hurt.

No worries, reason I always put that is because I normally get my info from other news sites. To be honest I sometimes forget that this forum is a branch of a news site since I came here by word of mouth.

So like this article, I got it off wrestlinginc.com and they had "Partial source" as their source so that's what I put.

My guess as to why it has "partial source" written on many of the articles is because they mention more than just the news. Like how this one said that TNA is interested in bringing in Shelton/Haas and reforming Team Angle; that's what they got from The Observer. But it also went on to talk how Team Angle was a dominant tag team years ago and the peak of the careers. Most likely this info wasn't in the Observer and something the writer for Wrestlinginc just threw in.

I didn't see the point in posting the source where I personally got the information from just as long as I put where the actual news came from, but if it would be better for me to post where I personally got the news then I don't mind doing that.

I like this and it's only good for TNA's tag division.

Since TNA's tag division is lagging right now, I don't have a problem with this. All they have is The Guns, GenMe, Beer Money Inc, and Team 3D. I'm sure I'm still missing someone, but Team Angle would be pretty good addition to their tag scene.

LOL, the peak of Haas and Benjamin's career...so their peak was the absolute brief 3 months of their career? Team Angle didn't last too long because Kurt got injured.

I would love to see Team Angle, they looked way cooler than World's Greatest Tag Team. They would HAVE to come out to Kurt's TNA theme.

I'm fairly sure Team Angle lasted close to a year...
