...with live iMPACT!s. What did you think I meant? Freaking pervert.

ProWrestlingFans.com said:
Plans are in place for TNA iMPACT! to air live on Thursday, March 27. They will tape the 4/3 iMPACT! the next day, which will go head-to-head with a Ring of Honor show. At this point, there are no official plans for live Impact tapings as the 3/27 show is an experiment. However, TNA has contacted indy promoters who run shows on Friday nights that feature TNA talent to pull them off of their shows during the month of April, so live Impacts definitely appear to be something strongly under consideration.

*a second article*

The live edition of iMPACT! on 3/27 is basically a one time experiment. If things go well and the ratings see a jump because of the live asspect then we will most likely see the show go live every other week this summer.

Well, it makes sense. I mean at least try it a time or two. I'm sure the ratings will definitely spike, especially if they don't go up against anything and it goes live on a Thursday. I don't think there is any other way about it. At least try it. If it doesn't work out, then don't do it for a while. If it does, take off and run with the idea. Not much else to say.

My prediction...the rating will rise...just a little. You only know about TNA if you watch SpikeTV, and besides UFC, what the fuck is on SpikeTV? The only way TNA gets it's product out there, to state that it's going to be LIVE is through commercials on Spike, but I must admit Spike had a hit with MXC.

I like this idea and hopefully it goes well so iMPACT can go live permanantly but I think TNA have a otive behind this because if I am correct WM 24 is a few days after and it is also in Florida so TNA may be trying to stand their guard a little on WWE for intruding their turf.

As I've said before, especially with SD!, going live is very important and will always improve ratings. That being said xtremebadass makes a good point, the casual fan isn't really going to know that it's going to live and probably won't attract massive ratings. I'm guessing, as long as there isn't anything huge on tv that night, that ratings will go up a little bit. However long term I'm not sure what the effects will be, strange to baically come out and say that you're only going to do it once, but I guess we'll see how it works.

No live iMPACT!

Universal Studio’s official website has updated the taping schedule for TNA Impact and according to it, TNA will not air a live edition of Impact on Thursday, Match 27 on Spike TV as previously reported. The website has the tapings that week listed for Monday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 25 respectively.

- TNA had planned on experimenting with going live on Thursday, March 27th and then tape the next week’s edition of Impact the next night. The feeling was that not only would the company be broadcasting Impact live for the first time but they would be able to capitalize off of the thousands of fans in the Orlando area for WrestleMania XXIV as it will be that weekend. However, according to the dates released, it appears as if those plans have been scrapped.

- Here are the updated TNA Impact taping dates from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida:
* Monday, February 25
* Tuesday, February 26
* Monday, March 10
* Tuesday, March 11
* Monday, March 24
* Tuesday March 25

Maybe they just couldnt get the equipment or something, this sucks...I was looking forward to seeing a live iMPACT! instead of the same old heavily edited fake crowd noised iMPACT!

^Hmm interesting. First TNA promises they're going to give out free passes to loud fans, then they renigged. Now they said they are going to broadcast live and they renigged. Well they're just a bunch of reni-on second thought on I'm not going to go there.

Either that or they felt going live on Mania Weekend wasn't a good idea. I mean it would be better to try it during a normal week to get a better result of what to expect. Its also possible they felt that the Impact Zone was too small of a facility to do a proper live show, and/or are going to do the Live taping elsewhere.

btw: I merged these threads, theres no point to creating a second thread to say something isn't happening anymore when you can report it in the existing thread.

I'll admit it...I'm definitly guilty myself of just not watchin' TNA some days jsut becuase it doesn't sound like a good show from the spoilers and there's better thing on TV...Now if they switch to live...I won't be able to know if it'll be a good or bad show...So i'll have to watch just to find out for myself...

So to the point its definitly a good thing...I mean if Friday night smackdown did the same thing rating would go up to...I don't expect TNA to get that big of a jump just for switchin' to live tapings...but it definitly couldn't hurt...

ratings definately wouldnt go up too much, because the fans who know about tna are the ones who already watch it basically. so i dont see the ratings drastically rising
