It's child's play for Tina Fey.
The "30 Rock" creator and star is in talks to help produce the film adaptation for the popular children’s picture book, "Fancy Nancy," according to EW.com.
Fey, 41, is currently in negotiations to join the “Fancy Nancy†film team as co-producer of the series that now boasts 46 books, a line of collector’s dolls, and a devoted following of cultured young baronesses.
In the books, Nancy is a young girl with taste beyond her years. Bored by an ordinary reality with ordinary people, she embellishes her world with all things “fancy,†a budding fashionista sporting long lush boas and ruby slippers and all things glittery. She prefers to speak in French.
Well, Nancy's elegant followers around the world can say "bonjour" to another talent. “Night at the Museum†directory Shawn Levy recently signed on for the film.
The 2005 book written by Jane O’Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser was optioned for the big screen by 20th century Fox this past week. Fey, who wrote the 2004 movie “Mean girls†is not expected to take an acting role in the film according to sources close to the talks told Entertainment Weekly.
A funny woman and hope she does well with this.
